About Us
Owners and sisters Michelle and Mary Mangiliman (left to right) tapped into their Filipino roots while searching for a meaningful name for their boutique and chose “Dalaga” – the Filipino term for “lady” – a word affectionately used by their father when referring to his daughters in their stylish formative years. This nod to their childhood and Filipino heritage was the perfect name for the store they had been dreaming of opening since they played shop keep in their mother’s closet.
Named “Best Dresses” by New York Magazine and Brooklyn’s #1 Classic Boutique by Refinery29, it was the first retail store front to open on the now thriving Franklin Street in Brooklyn, New York.
Michelle and Mary pride themselves on supporting local designers and being an eclectic, affordable boutique in the sea that is New York retail. The store is stocked weekly with an expertly edited assortment of dresses, tops, footwear, bags, accessories and house wares from a mix of coveted emerging and established designers with most items under $100.
